Experience In Complex Environmental-Law Matters
Our environmental lawyers have played a lead role in defending corporations identified as PRPs (potentially responsible parties) by the US EPA and NJ DEP at many of the East Coast’s toxic-waste sites. We’ve been able to devise the best and most cost-effective strategies for defending our clients and successfully litigate highly complex environmental matters with many defendants and across many jurisdictions. Our team has participated on steering committees and has chaired allocation and negotiating committees within PRP groups that include hundreds of members. In cooperation with the US EPA and NJ DEP, we have negotiated consent decrees and site settlements as well as internal PRP group allocations and settlements. The environmental lawyers at Dughi, Hewit & Domalewski use their extensive knowledge to help sort out the legal obligations of PRPs and assess liability, cost allocation, and damages under both state and federal law.
